Information about Being in a Research Study Clemson University
Description of the Study and Your Part in It
Rebecca Schmidt-Jeffris is inviting you to take part in a research study. Dr. Schmidt-Jeffris is an assistant professor at Clemson University. The purpose of this research is to determine current knowledge and grower needs regarding biological control in vegetable crops in the Southeastern US.
Your part in the study will be to complete the accompanying survey. It will take you about 5-15 minutes to be in this study.
Risks and Discomforts
We do not know of any risks or discomforts to you in this research study.
This information will be used to determine the research and extension priorities of the Southeast Vegetable Biocontrol Working Group. We will use these priorities to decide which projects to pursue to best serve the needs of vegetable growers. In this capacity, survey results will be used to support future grant applications by demonstrating what areas growers would like to improve. Results will also be used to determine whether future extension efforts are successful in addressing the needs of our growers. We anticipate that the long term benefit will be improved vegetable production in our region through increased research and extension program financial support and improved production practices.
Protection of Privacy and Confidentiality
The results of this study may be published in scientific journals, professional publications, or educational presentations; however, no individual participant will be identified. The survey will not request any identifying information.
Choosing to Be in the Study
You may choose not to take part and you may choose to stop taking part at any time. You will not be punished in any way if you decide not to be in the study or to stop taking part in the study.
