The 23rd annual Virginia Biological Farming Conference is Virginia’s premier organic and sustainable agricultural conference! The Conference brings together farmers, gardeners, eaters, educators and advocates of biological and organic farming and gardening.
The three day Conference includes: Full and Half Day Pre-Conference intensive workshops, 50+ sessions and workshops, presentations and panel discussions, 40+ tradeshow exhibitors, locally sourced farm meals and book signings. The Conference features a Silent Auction and networking opportunities including regional networking meetings, and the Taste of Virginia Expo & Social!

Included in the Conference Registration and free and open to the public is the Taste of Virginia Expo & Market on Saturday, January 7, 2 – 9 PM in the Crystal Ballroom at Hotel Roanoke. Featuring sampling and sales of Virginia-crafted foods, local libations, handicrafts, and herbals. Complete the evening with music, dancing, and socializing from 8-10 PM.
VABF is offering a Youth Program for children ages 5 – 12, and a special teen program for 13 and up for only $55, including Saturday lunch and dinner and Sunday lunch . Youth Program Registration is offered as an add on to Conference registration or as a stand alone registration.

VABF and 4P Foods are working together to procure the majority of our Conference food from local member farms. We look forward to supporting our member farms and enjoying delicious, fresh, local food from the farms below! All Conference Registrations include lunch and dinner on Saturday, lunch on Sunday and morning coffee and tea.

Payment may be made securely online below with a credit or debit card or by mailing a check or money order. To pay by mail, please submit all ticket and registrant information, Click to mail payment and Register! Mail payment to the VABF address given. Registration confirmation and information will be emailed to registrants. Payment receipts are emailed once payment is received and recorded.
Taxes and fees are already included in the Registration Rates! No additional charges!
- Farm/Household members may purchase member registrations for up to 5 of their household family, farm members or farm interns.
- Non-profit organizations and Business Members may purchase up to 3 member registrations for their organization/company.
- Farm Intern members must currently work for a VABF member farm to receive the farm intern member rate. Students must list an institution and provide student ID at check-in for verification.
- Saturday or Sunday ONLY registrations: Sign in to receive the member discount.
Registration refunds are available until Jan 1, 2023. A $25 administrative fee will be retained for refunds. If the Conference is cancelled, full refunds will be issued. If the Conference is postponed, registrants will have an option for full refund or to transfer registration.
The safety and wellbeing of conference attendees is a top priority for VABF. Due to the unpredictable nature of COVID-19 and its threat to public health, all attendees will follow state and hotel guidelines pertaining to indoor gatherings, namely social distancing and masking. VABF continues to monitor the COVID-19 situation and depending upon circumstances may strengthen conference safety requirements to include mandatory masking indoors, proof of vaccination, or if unvaccinated, proof of a negative COVID-19 test result within a period of time deemed appropriate by VABF. VABF will only enact stronger requirements for conference attendees should state or hotel policies change, or conference organizers deem them to be in the best interest of attendees and the organization.
The Hotel Roanoke has installed an abundant amount of hand sanitizer stations throughout the Conference space and the Hotel. They’ve enhanced all cleaning and disinfecting regimens. Read more about their cleaning protocols here. Frequent hand washing is encouraged and there are hand washing locations throughout the Conference area.
We will provide take away containers for meals for attendees who would like to eat their meals away from the dining area.
