FINANCIAL AID: VABF Financial aid funds are granted based on both need and experience with and a future in, organic and sustainable agriculture. Financial aid is intended for those who would not be able to attend this conference without it. Financial aid recipients are required to volunteer for 6-8 hours total, split into shifts of your choice, and to attend the whole conference. Financial aid covers the full cost of conference registration for Jan 12 & 13, 2020, which includes lunch and dinner on Sunday and lunch on Monday. Financial aid does not cover any lodging or travel expenses. Financial Aid recipients will be provided a discount code for 100% off an Individual Conference Registration.
CONFERENCE VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers receive 50% off an individual registration fee in exchange for 6-8 hours of work, split into shifts of your choice. A 50% off discount code will be provided for the online registration, if application is accepted. Conference registration is for Jan 12 & 13, 2020 and includes lunch and dinner on Sunday and lunch on Monday. Volunteers are responsible for their own travel and lodging.
PRE-CONFERENCE VOLUNTEERS: Volunteers are also needed for Pre-Conference workshops, on Saturday, January 11. If the application is accepted, a 50% off Pre-Conference workshop discount code will be provided for volunteers that work for 2-3 hours on Saturday. The 50% off code does not apply to the Saturday lunch ticket. Acceptance as a Pre-Conference Volunteer is separate from a Conference Volunteer. Volunteers are responsible for their own travel and lodging.
All volunteers will be able to pick their shifts. Tasks include but are not limited to: checking name badges at meals, checking name badges and hosting rooms during sessions, helping at the registration/info desk, assisting exhibitors, and helping with the Silent Auction and Taste of Virginia Market & Expo.
