Job Description

Provide leadership and management for the operation of the horticulture hotline and plant clinic. Disseminate information and diagnose problems relating to noncommercial horticulture for VCE clientele in the Roanoke and Botetourt areas.

Required Qualifications

Strong technical and diagnostic skills dealing with horticulture related topics; strong communication skills; self motivated, responsible, and able to work without close supervision; experienced in prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively to perform multiple tasks simultaneously; experience developing educational materials; experienced in training, motivating, supervising, evaluating, and recognizing volunteers; basic computer skills for accessing and conveying information.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree in horticulture; previous experience in horticulture education.
