The Virginia Association for Biological Farming (VABF) is the primary organization in the state of Virginia concerned with organic and biological farming and gardening.
Our organization is dedicated to bringing you the best practices and information about living lightly on the land. We support all farmers who want to raise livestock, or grow grains, fruits, and vegetables in ways that are respectful of the cycles of weather, the geography, and our neighborhoods.
We are a group of people willing to commit our time and passion to a future that includes wholesome food and a way of life that can support ourselves and our children. This includes not only farmers, but the many people who buy the food products grown on sustainable farms, the schools and parents who teach our children about working with nature, and small-farm activists and extension agents who help our communities thrive.
On this website you will find details about our annual conference, a calendar of state-wide and sometimes nation wide events, and a wonderful collection of articles and information sheets about sustainable growing practices.
Clearly we need your help if we are to continue on this path. Every time you buy food with the earth in mind you are taking steps to insure our future good. Please support our efforts for a more thoughtful and considerate world. Donate to VABF so we can continue to prosper and spread the word about what sustainability means to ourselves and our land. Donations in any amount can be sent to: VABF, P.O. Box 1003, Lexington VA 24450.
VABF’s mission is to educate about, advocate for, and promote organic and biological farming and gardening.
VABF is a non-profit organization under IRS 501(c)(3) tax status. Your donations to VABF are therefore tax-deductible to the extent recognized by law.
We have a board of directors, an executive director, and a newsletter editor for communications.
