Job Opportunity: Farm Manager
Come join our team!
We are seeking an enthusiastic co-worker who has experience in farming and gardening, and who is self-motivated, a good communicator, and is comfortable leading groups and working alone. A practical knowledge of biodynamic agriculture and/or regenerative agricultural practices and an interest in bees and the pollinator-plant relationship are ideal qualities in a candidate.
The Farm Manager should be willing to work closely with the staff team, manage the daily work of the seasonal apprentices and volunteers, coordinate the work of the Gardener, and care for the pollinator flowers and fields, grounds, buildings, vegetable and herb gardens, rye, hedgerows, and orchard. Some experience with livestock (especially goats), carpentry, maintenance, and tractor proficiency is desirable. The Farm Manager will also have the opportunity to be part of the beekeeping workshops and festivals as well as participate in our team meetings and staff studies of the bees. The Farm Manager will report to the Director and work collaboratively with the staff team.
This is a full-time (FT) and year-round position and compensation includes a salary (to be determined by qualifications and responsibilities taken) as well as farm products and educational opportunities. On-farm housing is available for the Farm Manager.
As we strive towards equity and inclusion, we would like to especially encourage BIPOC and LGBTQ+ individuals to apply.
This role will be open until filled. Ideal start date is in November 2022. To apply, please email Alex at alex.t@spikenardfarm.org with your cover letter and resume.
