Helping our farms survive, though, is a way to ensure secure food sources for all who call WNC home and all who are fed by our farms. Those who work so hard to grow our food need our help so they can continue to provide for us. It's still early yet to know just how much damage has been done by Hurricane Helene, though estimates are already in the billions for agricultural damage. Many of our farmers in our community have lost, quite literally, everything. Others are struggling to get hay to their livestock, or get to resources after entire roads and bridges were washed away. Our local communities depend on these farms for food, and farms in Western North Carolina contribute to broader agricultural supply chains. The spreadsheet linked above is a continually updated resource for you to know who needs help and how to get them funds. We invite you to support their survival and recovery in any way you can.
